THE REAL SEX EDUCATION PODCAST SOCIAL TEASER
I was tasked with growing the social media audience for a sex-education podcast. Previous videos had peaked at around 20,000 views, so I developed a new editorial approach designed to increase audience retention and reach new viewers.
Working independently from 45-minute episodes, I identified the moments with the greatest potential to engage social audiences and built each video around a strong opening hook, a clear reason to keep watching and a satisfying pay-off. I edited each film in Adobe Premiere Pro, creating captions, punch-ins and visual jokes tailored to maximise engagement across TikTok and Instagram.
The approach transformed the podcast's reach. This video achieved 6 million organic views; others in the series I produced reached 5.5 million and 3 millon.

RIP OFF BRITAIN
SOCIAL EXPLAINER
BBC One's 'Rip Off Britain' had no social media presence when I was asked to help launch one from scratch. My challenge was to develop a strategy that would successfully translate the programme's trusted consumer journalism to social audiences without losing the authority viewers associated with the brand.
I used audience research to identify Facebook as the right platform to focus on and developed a content strategy built around accessible consumer explainers for the programme's older audience, many of whom had hearing or sight difficulties.
For this film, I originated the idea, chose and briefed travel influencer Simon Calder, scripted and directed the content and oversaw the edit. Knowing this audience valued familiarity and trusted the programme, I deliberately retained its broadcast-quality visual style to make the content feel authoritative and reassuring, rather than adopting a more informal social aesthetic.
The strategy helped establish the programme's social presence, with the channel growing to approximately 75,000 followers.

HELP THE ANIMALS AT CHRISTMAS
SOCIAL CAMPAIGN
03/04
As Digital Producer and Producer/Director on Channel 5's 'Help the Animals at Christmas', a live telethon raising money for animal charities, I produced and self-shot campaign films with participating charities and created social content to build awareness, engagement and support for the appeal.
I monitored performance throughout the campaign and found that talent-led videos generated around 8× the engagement and 20× the shares of charity-only content. I used this insight to shift the social strategy towards more talent-led films, identifying Simon Cowell as someone who could help broaden the campaign’s reach. I approached his agent, secured his support and remotely directed him to self-film this appeal at home, before editing the final video for social.
The campaign helped drive awareness around the telethon, which raised £750,000 for participating charities.
Campaign graphics and animation were created by an external creative agency.

THE ACCUSED: GUILTY OR INNOCENT? DOCUMENTARY
'The Accused' follows defendants and their legal teams through the US criminal justice system. My challenge was to work sensitively with people involved in complex, emotionally demanding legal cases and turn their experiences into compelling, easy-to-follow stories.
I produced, directed and self-shot five episodes, conducting interviews, filming observational sequences and working closely with the edit team to shape each programme.
For this story, I rebuilt trust with a defence lawyer who had become reluctant to participate, adapting my approach to put him at ease on camera. By giving him space to talk naturally, I drew out his personality and found a more human way into a complicated legal case. The lawyer later agreed to participate in a second case, providing valuable continued access for the series.
